We offer 12 hour shifts which include 4 hours of overtime daily (as per the Collective Agreement), embracing a staffing model that provides consistency and creates a more attuned approach to service delivery.

The Residence Worker provides support to clients in areas of daily living following plans of care that are individualized and responsive.

The Residence Worker ensures the orderly and safe operation of the home, and follows the Guidelines of Care for that individual. The Residence Worker supports children and youth in developing life skills, social skills and facilitates access to community resources. Provides individual care and guidance consistent with the needs of the individual with support needs, mental health issues, behavioral challenges, or addictions. Provides stabilization through predictable structure, clear expectations and positive behavior support. Incumbents must have the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team context, and be able to demonstrate skills in attuned caregiving, crisis intervention, conflict resolution and problem solving, as well as written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, outgoing, caring and will understand the importance of working within an agency accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

The key responsibilities are as follows but are not limited to:

1. Work as part of a team to deliver high quality care to young people in a residential facility.
2. Work directly with young people in the program and support stakeholders including families, school and others as appropriate.
3. Undertake Looking After Children and following the requirements for clients and monitoring of relevant documentation
4. Implement current practices in therapeutic interventions for adolescents in our care as directed by the Guidelines for Care
5. Contribute to the development of a comprehensive education, living, social and recreational skills program, as per program guidelines
6. Maintain administrative and documentation requirements in accordance with program guidelines
7. Ensure the residential facility is clean and well maintained by undertaking general household tasks including shopping, cooking, and cleaning
