Payroll/AP Clerk

Catalyst Healthcare is looking for an energetic, growth orientated Payroll/AP clerk to join our growing team! The Payroll/AP Clerk will focus on performing a wide variety of payroll processing activities to ensure the timely and accurate payment of employees. The position works with all levels of staff to answer questions regarding paychecks, timecards, policies related to Payroll, and other programs that may affect paychecks. The Payroll/AP Clerk will also maintain all accounts payable functions to include posting, paying, and reconciling vendor accounts. A successful candidate can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of organization and attention to detail.

Job Duties:
• Payroll duties (running payroll for both USA and Canada, remittance tasks, RRSP/401K tasks)
• Benefits package administration to new employees as well as keeping them updated for current employees – US and Canadian staff
• Onboarding and offboarding employees from a payroll prospective
• Monitor time sheet system
o Pull reports from this periodically and at year end/quarter end in order to assist with Financial Statement preparation
• Help implement a new payroll system
• Process invoices received from vendors to obtain proper approvals & coding prior to entry into the accounting database
• Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of expenses
• Answers internal and external customer questions about payments
• Ensure that payables and paid within company and payment terms guidelines
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Prepare month end and quarterly reconciliations, analysis’ and journal entries
• Track and assist in regulatory compliance, including US GAAP and IFRS regulations
• Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
• Work with third-party vendors as required
• Maintains Accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls and policies
• Assist with processing weekly payments via check, ACH, Wire & EFT
• Ad hoc duties

• Minimum 2+ years of accounts payable experience
• Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting/Business degree are all a plus
• Exceptionally skilled at data entry
• Experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
