Office Administrator

The Canokanne Foods Ltd. Restaurant group is looking for an administrator to work out of the office at Turtle Bay Pub in Lake Country. Our restaurant group currently consists of Turtle Bay Pub, Norman's Diner and Diner on Six, with a second Norman's Diner location opening this May in Rutland.

While the core requirements for this position remain fairly consistent, there may be diversity in the responsibilities of the job dependent on both the fluctuating needs of a growing company, as well ask the talents and skills of the individual who ends up holding this position.

We're proud to be a company that has experienced growth, and have therefore been able to offer opportunities for personal and professional growth to deserving members of our team.

The core responsibilities, where one would make up the bulk of their hours, are the following:

- Counting and auditing server cash-outs

- Communicating concerns and/or ideas regarding cash-outs to GM

- Preparing deposits

- Payroll (using Payworks software)

- Ordering office supplies

- Managing lotto and pull-tab inventory

- Organizing invoices and preparing them to be sent to our bookkeeper

- Keeping office clean and organized

- Helping to set up new accounts

- Gathering quotes and information at the request of the ownership team

Additionally, the office administrator would either manage or assist with organizing staff parties, ordering cakes for birthdays, purchasing gifts for staff appreciation/recognition.

We do provide training on the core responsibilities of this position, but an applicant’s ability to ask questions and be resourceful in locating helpful information weigh heavily.

Other skills required for this position are as follows:

- good/professional written and verbal communication skills

- ability to work independently

- experience working on computers and using Microsoft excel and word

- Basic math skills

- very strong organization skills

- good troubleshooting skills

- A pleasant and professional demeanor and a can-do attitude

- great time management skills

- must have a vehicle

No experience in the restaurant industry is necessary (however, it is an asset), as maturity and dependability feature heavily.

Currently, this position offers between 25 – 35 hours per week, dependent on a few factors such as seasonality and business growth. How hours are distributed throughout the week can be quite flexible, with weekends and holidays off.

Starting compensation is $21 - $23/hr dependent on experience, with regular performance and wage reviews, as well as the strong potential for growth opportunities.

If this position sounds like it might be a great opportunity for you, please forward your resume to [email protected] I look forward to meeting you!
