Junior Planner

Position/Title Seeking:
Junior Planner

Our team of 20 is growing and we are looking for a Junior Planner to join us. We foster an open working environment with a focus on team-building and collaboration. NEW TOWN ARCHITECTURE & ENGINEERING INC. is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm located in Kelowna, BC. We provide professional expertise in the fields of architecture, civil engineering, master planning and urban design. We pride ourselves on outstanding client service and creative, market-sensitive design solutions.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
• Preparing development applications
• Preparing public consultation materials
• Reviewing and interpreting land use bylaws
• Reviewing concept/development plans
• Preparing base drawing/plan files
• Working within multi-disciplinary project groups

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Undergraduate degree in urban planning (or related program).
• Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners
• Knowledge of municipal planning bylaws, and other land use related regulations.
• Excellent writing, communication, presentation, and customer service skills are essential.
• Research and analysis skills required.
• Experience with Sketchup and AutoCAD would be considered assets.
• Ability to work as part of a team, provide support to other team members, and focus on team goals is essential.
