Education/Experience:
The successful candidate will possess a post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Services or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Desired Professional Skills/Requirements:
The Job Developer provides job placement and job retention services through the WorkBC program to clients who are experiencing a high level of difficulty in finding employment. The Job developer works directly with employers to uncover hidden leads that meet clients’ needs and encourages employers to provide on-the-job training, work experience opportunities and/or skill level assessments. The travel component of this position requires the Job Developer to have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle on a regular basis. The Job Developer must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Proficiency in ICM usage considered an asset.

Job Responsibilities:
• Coordinates and conducts marketing and outreach activities to community agencies, organizations and employers
• Provides comprehensive individualized services to eligible clients with the goal of facilitating employment relationships that are mutually beneficial for the client and the employer
• Provides employment coaching strategies, tactics and Labour Market information to clients during the client’s job search in order to foster successful employment outcome
• Secures paid and unpaid work experience placement opportunities for clients including wage subsidy and Job Creation Partnerships (JCP)
• Identifies potential job opportunities for clients based on their individual skills and abilities
• Monitors the placement by contacting the client and their employer at regular, agreed-upon intervals and provide on the job support and coaching as needed
• Maintains accurate and current case files in ICM, including concise case notes with relevant details that record interactions with clients
• Provides and documents rationales for intervention decisions in ICM
• Works collaboratively with clients who have specialized needs and require adaptive equipment or software to coordinate the purchase and installation of the device
• Utilizes ministry policy and Maximus prescribed procedures when implementing client interventions, recording data in ICM, and providing general services to clients
• Manages client appointments and communication, ensuring frequent contact that at minimum meets the standard set out in ministry policy
• Builds partnerships with employers, community agencies, and other stakeholders
• Conducts ongoing labour market research utilizing connections with industry associations, chambers of commerce, economic development commission offices, and employers
• Shares relevant information with other team members, including other Job Developer staff, resource room navigators and employment coordinators
• Completes reports and documentation on activities as required
• Conducts and facilitates presentations to community groups, stakeholders and clients
• May be required to adjust work week schedule as needed
• French language proficiency considered an asset
