Controller - Equipment Finance


CONTROLLER

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position is responsible for safeguarding the assets of the company by establishing and maintaining appropriate controls and procedures. This positions reports and manages financial information, equipment accounting and financial advisory groups as well as budget and forecasting processes.

Major Job Functions:
• Responsible for the efficient management of the lease and loan servicing including contract payouts, amendments and monthly collections.
• Assist with planning, preparation, and coordination of Consolidated Financial Statements and reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
• Work closely with the bookkeeper and CFO in all areas of day to day financial activities
• Work with the Funding team in an audit capacity to ensure documentation packages are accurate and complete prior to funding leases and loans
• Continually identify opportunities and implement initiatives to improve service to customers.
• Provide professional, timely and accurate financial advice to internal clients
• Establish/ improve, monitor and document internal controls and processes
• Ad hoc and special projects as necessary

Knowledge:
• Thorough and competent knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and auditing practices
• Advanced general accounting knowledge coupled with a sound understanding of business processes, the interrelationship of different business functions, corporate governance issues and operational needs
• Proficient in use of MS Office suite and in house systems

Accountability:
• Review financial reporting to ensure fair presentation
• Ensure that all accounting processes, policies and procedures are current, communicated and enforced to ensure safeguarding of corporate assets
• Responsible for effective work environment which successfully contributes to the achievement of the business goals and objectives for finance department and the work unit
• Represent the company in an ethical and professional manner and maintain confidentiality
