Accounting Assistant


Source Office Furnishings is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the position of Accounting Assistant at our Kelowna location. This is a full-time position.

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist that is confident and professional. This individual is responsible for contacting customers and collecting outstanding accounts in all 12 of our retail locations across Canada. This role also involves working collaboratively with the sales team to identify outstanding accounts and ensuring that the balances are paid. Other duties include but are not limited to processing monthly commissions, weekly meetings with the Controller and other responsibilities as they arise.

Main Responsibilities:
• Responsible for collecting outstanding accounts in all Source store locations across Canada; including contacting customers once they have passed their payment terms
• Working with the sales staff to address any customer issues that result in them not paying in their regular time frame
• Weekly meetings with the Controller to review overdue Accounts Receivable
• Process monthly commission reports in a time critical manner

Qualifications:
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong ability to multi-task
• 3+ years of accounting/collections experience, preferably in a busy retail environment
• Must speak English fluently
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Basic accounting experience would be an asset

Wage: $18.50/hour
