A Kelowna-based foundation has been recognized for its equality when it comes to giving.

Central Okanagan Foundation recently was named to Canada’s Top 50 Equitable Funders, which is compiled by Future of Good and QuakeLab. The foundation placed 24th on the list.

Top 50 Equitable Funders is an independent annual ranking that spotlights grant makers who are centring and advancing equity, inclusion and anti-racism in their governance, team, investing and grant making. Future of Good uses QuakeLab to provide detailed research and analysis in the creation of the list.

“The team at the Central Okanagan Foundation is humbled by this recognition,” executive director Kristine Bugayong said in a press release. “This is a nod to the path we are on, and we are inspired to be better and do better. Thank you to Future of Good and Quake Lab for creating this program.

“Hopefully foundations are able to continue to view all our activities with an equity lens, internally and externally.”
