A Kelowna resident has been honoured as one of Canada’s most powerful women.

Reece Tomlinson, who founded RWT Growth, has been named one of the winners of the 2024 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards, as chosen by the Women’s Executive Network, known as WXN.

There are several categories in which the women were honoured. Tomlinson was named to the Compass Rose Entrepreneurs group, which recognizes women who own and operate thriving businesses.

“Reece has extensive experience in corporate finance, M&A, investment banking and strategic planning,” WXN wrote about Tomlinson. “She utilizes her experience to assist companies and leaders working to make this planet better and/or reducing inequalities.

“As a trans woman, her objective is to bring awareness to issues being faced by under-represented founders and the LGBTQ+ and transgender community. She speaks to the challenges women face in the workplace and how we can create more equality.”

The WXN awards are actually recognizing 103 women for their “leadership and groundbreaking achievements” that have transformed their industries, companies, communities and country.

Tomlinson and the rest of the winners will be celebrated in person at the 22nd annual Top 100 Awards Gala in Toronto on Nov. 27. Award-winning journalist Lisa LaFlamme and The Social’s Andrea Bain will conduct a fireside chat as part of the festivities.
