The holiday season is just around the corner, and that means BGC Okanagan is looking for the community to support local families in need.
The annual Adopt-a-Family program is back, and it will provide essential food and gifts for families to ensure everyone can experience the warmth and joy of the holidays.
“For many families, the holiday season can be overwhelming,” BGC Okanagan community engagement co-ordinator Richelle Leckey said in a press release. “Through Adopt-a-Family, we are not just delivering food and gifts—we’re delivering moments of joy and peace of mind.
“It’s about showing families that they are not alone and that their community stands behind them, especially when times are tough.”
BGC Okanagan’s goal is to raise $30,000 to support more than 200 of its families with holiday hampers. Sentes Automotive got the ball rolling with a $5,000 donation.
There are many ways to get involved. You can sponsor a family’s hamper with a donation, or you can co-ordinate with BGC Okanagan to build a hamper on your own.
If you can’t donate, BGC Okanagan simply wants you to tell everyone you know about Adopt-a-Family.
“This program is about more than just giving—it’s about lifting up our community,” Leckey said. “By coming together, we can make sure every family feels the magic and generosity of the holiday season.”
