New chef at Six Degrees
Six Degrees Bistro at Big White Ski Resort will have a new executive chef at the helm this winter, offering dishes with her own unique style that are sure to delight.
Alessa Valdez is the new person in charge of the kitchen, and she brings to the mountain a wealth of culinary experience and passion for innovative cuisine.
“We are beyond excited to have Chef Alessa Valdez join us,” Six Degrees Bistro owner Ana Mooney said in a press release. “Her experience across diverse cuisines and her passion for, sustainable ingredients align perfectly with what we’re building here. Her leadership and creativity will continue to elevate the dining experience for our guests.”
Valdez has worked at some of the top restaurants in Toronto, including Alo Bar, which is part of the Michelin-starred Alo Restaurant Group. She moved to B.C. to work at Phantom Creek Estates near Oliver before making the move to Big White.
The bistro will open for the winter season on Dec. 12.
