Shuswap dancers to raise funds

Find out for yourself which Shuswap residents really know how to cut a rug at the eighth annual Dancing with the Shuswap Stars fundraiser event.
Tickets are now available for the Dancing with the Shuswap Stars gala, which will be held at the SASCU Recreation Centre on Saturday, Nov. 16.
The popular annual fundraiser for the Shuswap Hospice Society will be back with another year of dance performances from local residents.
The event is modelled on the Dancing with the Stars TV show, and features local business owners and other notable community members recruited to perform a dance routine after a few weeks of lessons with dance professionals.
The audience can purchase star votes to cast a ballot for their favourite contestants to help increase their odds of winning.
Tickets for the gala cost $85 and include a gourmet charcuterie box, snacks and the chance to hit the dance floor as DJ Liz Blair spins the tunes.
There will be a cash bar, and a safe ride home program will be available.
All proceeds will go to the Shuswap Hospice Society, which supports Shuswap residents dealing with life-altering diagnoses, death and the grieving process.
Voting for your favourite participants is already open, and you can participate by purchasing star votes online at the Dancing with the Shuswap Stars website.
Tax receipts are available for all donations.
