Kelowna’s Four Points by Sheraton Kelowna Airport keeps churning out award winners.

Ahmad Taher Saleh on Tuesday became the third consecutive employee to win Marriott’s prestigious operations manager of the year award.

He follows Zoey Dryden in 2022 and Stacy Thacyk in 2021 as winners from the Four Points that is across Highway 97 from Kelowna International Airport.

Saleh serves as the manager of both the Four Points and Hampton Inn & Suites Kelowna, which are right across the parking lot from one another. He came to Kelowna from Ukraine in June 2022 to escape the war. Prior to that, he worked for the company in United Arab Emirates.

“Ahmad’s journey from Ukraine to Canada, his immediate and invaluable contributions, and his unwavering team-first mentality have made him an indispensable part of the hotel,” Kelowna’s Four Points and Hampton Inn general manager Jason Guyitt said in a press release.

“His thoughtful approach to problem-solving and dedication to continuous improvement align perfectly with Marriott’s vision of putting people first. We are incredibly proud of Ahmad’s achievements and the profound positive impact he has made on our hotel and the Kelowna community.”

Saleh’s hotel in Kelowna is rated as one of the top 15 Four Points in the world and is in the top five in Canada.

Saleh received the award on Tuesday in Bethesda, Md.
