Four Central Okanagan residents are headed to the BC Restaurant Hall of Fame.

British Columbia Restaurant and Foodservices Association on Thursday announced its 2024 inductees, who will be inducted on Oct. 21, at the Italian Culture Centre in Richmond.

Mark Filatow of Waterfront Wines (active restaurateur), Gospel Mission food service manager Jeremy Luypen (leading back of house employee/manager), Quails’ Gate Estate Winery’s Tony Stewart (supplier) and the Modest Butcher’s Dan Carkner (local champion) are all being honoured.

“Each of these inductees has made significant contributions to our industry, and it is an honour to recognize their achievements and dedication,” BCRFA president and CEO Ian Tostenson said in a press release. “Their passion, innovation and commitment to excellence exemplify the best of what our industry has to offer.”

There are 22 inductees in this year’s class, which will bring the total number to more than 100 since the hall of fame’s incorporation in 2005.
