Chamber tourney big success
Kelowna Chamber of Commerce raised more than $2,500 during its 39th annual golf tournament earlier this week.
Chamber members and guests hit the links on Wednesday at Harvest Golf Club. The event attracted 152 golfers and 29 sponsors, who enjoyed a day of golf before the rain came and then a banquet to cap off the event.
“Even though there were some raindrops around, we had a great day, a terrific opportunity for chamber members to try out their swings and make business connections,” chamber president Maryse Harvey said in a press release. “We’re very appreciative to (presenting sponsor) Parke Pacific and all our sponsors this year.”
The money raised from the event will go to the Parkinson Society of B.C. The funds raised from the 50/50 draw, meanwhile, will support the Rise Memorial and the UBCO golf program.
