Avant Brands has hired a professional with more than a decade of experience in the cannabis and alcohol industries as its new vice-president of revenue strategy.

Sukhie Chahal is the newest face at the Kelowna cannabis company after previously working in revenue management and sales strategy at Canopy Growth Corp.

“Sukhie’s proven track record in sales and operational planning, honed at a leading global cannabis company, perfectly aligns with Avant’s strategic growth goals,” Avant founder and CEO Norton Singhavon said in a press release. “Her expertise will be instrumental in both optimizing our domestic adult-use channels and accelerating our international expansion. We’re thrilled to welcome Sukhie to the team as we embark on this exciting new chapter.”

Chahal, who got her education at the University of Manitoba, has worked in the cannabis and and alcohol industries on three continents. Before going to work for Canopy Growth, she held several roles with Australia’s Treasury Wine Estates.

“The dedication and focus on innovation I’ve witnessed from Avant’s team is truly inspiring, especially considering their success in both the established Canadian market and on the global stage,” Chahal said. “The team’s ability to make such a strong impact speaks volumes about their capabilities.

“I’m excited to join forces with this talented group and contribute my experience to optimize and increase revenue streams for Avant, both domestically and internationally.”
