Uptown Rutland Business Association is reminding brick-and-mortar business owners that the application window to receive funding for vandalism repairs and prevention will open next week.
The provincial government will be giving $10.5 million in rebates to businesses to address the rising costs of vandalism repairs and vandalism prevention. The BC Chamber of Commerce will administer the program.
The rebates will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. There are two streams of rebates available, including up to $2,000 for repairs in both 2023 and 2024, and $1,000 for preventative measures in either 2023 or 2024.
The application window opens next Wednesday (Nov. 23) and will remain that way until Jan. 31, 2025.
