Chuck Cullen is a seasoned leader in the construction industry, known for his service as two-time president of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association Central Okanagan and inspiring the next generation of tradespeople in Central Okanagan.

Cullen’s 32-year career, encompassing multiple leadership roles, extends beyond organizational boundaries. Over the past 12 years he has initiated discussions with high school students about entering the trades, a topic he passionately addresses at convocations, graduations and CHBA educational events.

A well-known figure in the local community, he is active as a volunteer for both CHBA-CO and the Southern Interior Construction Association. His dedication to volunteerism is further evidenced by his contributions to charities such as the Salvation Army, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kelowna General Hospital Foundation and Mamas for Mamas. He is also a prominent volunteer for School District 23, contributing to capstone career days, trade spotlights and district bursary awards presentations.

After embarking on a construction career immediately following high school, Cullen progressed from apprentice to journeyman, and eventually to site superintendent and project manager. His commitment to continuous learning led him to achieve a gold seal in project management from the Canadian Construction Association in 2019. His further education includes training in building envelope technology, step code, passive house seminars and local city initiatives.

Over his illustrious career, Cullen earned several distinctions, including a Red Seal in carpentry in 1993. His exceptional work in the industry was recognized in 1997, when he received a silver Okanagan Housing Award for the best renovation under $50,000. His achievements underline the significant impact he has made on the construction industry and the Central Okanagan community.
