It appears Kelowna rent started its spring surge in February this year.

According to Castanet’s classifieds data, the prices of both one- and two-bedroom units jumped from January to February.

The average one-bedroom cost in the Central Okanagan increased from $1,516 in January to $1,550 in February.

It was a much more significant increase in the two-bedroom category, where the average rent went up by $140, from $2,040 to $2,180. That is the highest mark since September.

The one-bedroom data was based on 75 listings, while the two-bedroom figure was combed from 68 posts in Castanet’s classifieds section.
