Steve and Diane Geddes purchased Fibrenew Kelowna in 2019, and it took them only three years to reach great heights in their industry.

The couple won a franchisee of the year award at the recent International Franchise Association’s 63rd annual convention in Las Vegas. A total of 97 business owners across a variety of North American industries were honoured, and the Geddes duo was named Fibrenew’s best.

“We want to say a big thanks to the staff and customers of Fibrenew Kelowna,” Steve Geddes said in a press release. “Without them, we can not do what we do every day. We also are grateful for all the support we have received from Fibrenew International and are honoured to be a recipient of this award this year.”

IFA recognizes outstanding franchise establishment owner-operators during its annual convention. The award recognizes franchise owners from IFA member brands whose outstanding performance and contributions help protect, enhance and promote the franchise business model.

Individuals are nominated by their parent company and selected for their service to their communities, fostering a strong and vibrant workforce, opening the doors for career growth and entrepreneurship, and supporting their fellow franchisees.

The couple bought Fibrenew Kelowna in September 2019 and has turned it into one of the company’s most successful franchises. The business has 12 employees, three service vans and a storefront.

“We still haven’t found the ceiling on what’s possible, and I don’t know if we ever will,” Steve Geddes said. “There is so much work and potential out there for Fibrenew and what we do.”
