EATology has changed hands, but it’s staying in the family—sort of.
Two employees have purchased the popular downtown Vernon restaurant.
But don’t worry. All of the favourites will remain on the menu.
Merry Goddard and Sarah Cripps say they’ll be adding some items over the next few months.
“We are revamping the menu just a little bit,” Goddard said. “We are keeping all of the menu items that are on there now the same. We are just going to be introducing breakfast and lunch weekly specials.”
Goddard also has plans for special event nights.
“We will do a burger night, taco night, wings—special events like that,” she said.
Cripps is also a pastry chef, so there are plans to introduce a variety of baked goods.
Cripps comes with extensive experience, having worked in the hospitality industry for 17 years. Goddard has managed coffee shops and restaurants for the past eight years. Both have worked from Vancouver to New Brunswick, and even in Australia.
Kristina Klein started EATology as a small cafe in 2015 in the former Greyhound bus depot at the corner of 31st Avenue and 31st Street. From humble beginnings, Klein led EATology to become one of the busiest restaurants in Vernon. When Greyhound ceased operations, Klein purchased the building and embarked on a large expansion.
She’s now married and the mother of a young child.
Klein said selling the restaurant “comes with a variety of emotions, as we have grown to love so many of our customers. But we are so excited to see what the future holds. And don’t worry, your adored chicken ‘n waffles and eggs benny will still be here.”
