Synergy Foundation is looking for new green business ideas to put into its fifth annual Project Zero incubator program.

The Victoria-based, non-profit organization gives entrepreneurs with sustainably themed startup businesses the opportunity to create and refine their plans, learn operation fundamentals and entrepreneurial skills, connect with mentors and develop pitches for their companies.

Last year 17 ventures graduated from the program, including Lumby’s Waste Not Wool, which upcycles waste wool into a slow-release garden fertilizer.

The incubator is free for those who successfully apply for the program thanks to financial support from Vancity Credit Union. The eight-month virtual program runs from April to December each year, and applicants must be based in B.C., plan to develop in the province and have an operation that makes under $500,000 in revenue.

More information about the 2023 Project Zero incubator program can be found here.

The application deadline is Monday, Feb. 13.
