Archway Society for Domestic Peace in Vernon is getting a much-needed cash injection.

The non-profit society helps women, children and families flee domestic abuse and sexual violence and is this year’s recipient of almost $3,400 raised during a Junior Chamber International networking event.

The Lawn Days of Summer was held in August at Vernon Lawn Bowling Club.

“As the organizers of the event, JCI Vernon is ecstatic with the success of this event year over year,” event co-chair John Dent said.

The event was sponsored by BDO Canada LLP and is in its sixth year.

The lawn bowling event is not only a way for young professionals to meet each other, but it gives them an opportunity to try a different sport.

“We also couldn’t have done it without all of the local businesses who chose to sponsor the event,” Dent said.

JCI is an international organization of young active citizens from all over the world.
