Lift Auto Group said it would continue the “positive legacy” created by Methal Abougoush when it purchased the latter’s five Boyd Autobody & Glass locations in the Okanagan.

The company has made good on its promise, announcing Friday that the Father’s Day Charity Car Show will continue in 2023 and beyond, all in support of Kelowna’s Child Advocacy Centre.

The newly named CSN Collision Centres Father’s Day Charity Car Show will now be hosted by Lift. Abougoush remains an active member in the community and will assist Lift in ensuring the event remains a success.

“Actively engaging in a community for more than two decades gives you a deep understanding of what it needs and where,” Abougoush said in a press release. “The services CAC offers are invaluable to so many people. Along with Lift, I am thrilled to offer continued support to (CAC executive director) Ginny (Becker) and the team at the CAC.”

The event has raised more than $250,000 over the last five years, and Becker is thrilled that it will continue.

“The fact that Lift Auto Group has jumped in to pick up where this story left off is  extraordinary,” Becker said. “We are beyond excited to see the car show come back and to continue partnering on this amazing event.”

Lift, whose headquarters are in Kelowna, owns and operates nine collision repair facilities under the CSN banner in the B.C. Interior.

“We recognize that originally this car show was about doing something fun for the community, by bringing families and car enthusiasts together, but over time has grown to become much more than that,” Lift president and CEO Mark Reineking said. “The car show is an exceptional way to create awareness and community support for a vital organization like the CAC, and Lift is honoured to carry on the tradition pioneered by Methal.”
