The Vaults in Vernon is beginning to take shape, and that means the creativity is ready to flourish.

The premium storage facility serves as a home away from home for those who need room for their expensive toys, a quiet work space or a spot to simply get away. The walls started to be lifted last week, providing a glimpse of the finish line for those who have bought and are ready to utilize their stunning spaces.

Patrons can customize their units to fit their personalities, and The Vaults vice-president James Murray says innovations are being made all the time. The Vaults has two locations in Kelowna, and Murray says the enhancements to those units are getting creative, including outdoor decks on the mezzanine level that allow occupants to get outside and enjoy the Okanagan air.

The Vaults has a full design team that helps unit owners create completely customized, functional spaces for work and play. Hitting the significant milestone of raising the walls has everyone involved feeling excited.

“Right now our design team is working with the buyers for Vernon on enhancements to their units,” Murray says. “So we’re well underway with that design. You can never be early enough to be working on your enhancements, simply because the procurement time required. You should have a chance to get things just right.”

The Vaults Vernon, which is located at 45th Ave and 34th Street, is more than 60% sold out, leaving units between 1,677 and nearly 3,000 square feet available. The main floor is perfect for storing all the “toys” you have collected over the years, while the mezzanine level provides space for lounging, gaming area, bar or whatever your imagination can create.

That is all part of the fun when it comes to owning at The Vaults. Outside deck fire pits are being added to some units, and hot tubs have started making appearances at their Calgary location.

“People are trying to complement their existing homes, so we’ve seen a lot more people look at the recreational and entertainment side as well as, of course, building upon that alternate office space that’s there,” Murray says. “Some of the spaces are going to be pretty spectacular in Kelowna and in Vernon.”

Safety and security at The Vaults are summed up in its name. The full perimeter of the building is concrete, and the main entrance features frosted, security glass that closes after you drive in and prevents anyone on the outside from seeing which unit is yours.

Another part of the project is The Commerce, which features commercial and light industrial spaces that have been mostly leased. The Vaults and The Commerce are part of a major overhaul of the Anderson subdivision that will feature the Salt Centre light industrial complex next door and road connection through to Anderson Way.
