COEDC seeks advisory members

Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission is looking for new advisory council members to guide the organization’s strategic vision, specifically those in agriculture, manufacturing, forestry and technology.

The 45-member committee represents a variety of business associations, local government and key industry leaders. The council serves as a forum for discussion between member municipalities, industry and regional economic service delivery organizations. COEDC includes Central Okanagan Electoral Areas West and East, City of Kelowna, District of Lake Country, District of Peachland, City of West Kelowna, and Westbank First Nation.

Applications for the advisory council will be accepted until Wednesday, Nov. 16, and new members will serve two-year terms starting Jan. 1.

The council is looking for those who “possess demonstrated executive level experience and in-depth knowledge of one or more primary business sectors in the Central Okanagan, detailing any specialized areas of expertise, like commerce, finance, law, health care, manufacturing, technology, aerospace, agriculture and tourism.”

The council meets 10 times a year. Those interested in becoming members can submit their resume or a summary of their business background, and contact information to [email protected].
