The Community Foundation of the North Okanagan wants you—to get involved.

The foundation is seeking community-minded individuals with an interest in making an impact to join its various committees and board of directors.

“Community Foundations are known first and foremost for our granting programs. We need a few people to join our community grants committee, as well as a few people on our governance committee, and on our board of directors,” executive director Leanne Hammond said.

The organization is prioritizing applicants under 45 from diverse backgrounds.

“Having volunteers from different groups, ages, ethnicities and communities allows us to better represent the diversity of experience in our region and to make decisions that help us grow as an organization,” Hammond said.

“Both committee member and board member roles allow volunteers to make a significant difference and participate in strengthening the social fabric of our region.”

The foundation has distributed more than $9 million in grants during the past 47 years.
