It probably shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, but a fundraiser in which lawyers were hit in the face with pies raised a lot of money.

Pushor Mitchell LLP held an internal fundraiser week earlier this month and raised more than $10,000 for United Way BC. One of the fundraisers allowed staff members to bid on the right to hit one of the firm’s lawyers with a plate of whipped cream. The catch was the lawyers could bid as well—to not be pied. Several lawyers, however, were good sports and let their staffers have some fun.

“Where else can you see lawyers take a pie in the face?” Purshor Mitchell managing partner Andrew Brunton said in a press release.  “Our firm has supported the United Way for many years, and we are happy to step out of our comfort zones and have some fun for this important cause.”

The final tally was $10,750 raised for United Way BC.
