Wine Growers British Columbia has added three new members to its board of directors, and all of them hail from the Thompson Okanagan region.

The nine-member board welcomed Adam Woodward of Privato Vineyard & Winery in Kamloops, Darryl Brooker of Okanagan Crush Pad Winery in Summerland and Samantha Collins of Mission Hill Family Estate in West Kelowna during its annual general meeting on Wednesday in Kelowna.

“This year has been another busy and challenging year in the B.C. wine industry, and the commitment and dedication of our volunteer board of directors and committee members has been exceptional,” WGBC president and CEO Miles Prodan said in a press release.

“While we are still in the process of understanding and quantifying the lasting impact of the pandemic, we look forward to working with our new and continuing board members to grow back stronger and achieve meaningful results for the continued success of the B.C. wine industry.”

Those returning to the board are chair Christa-Lee McWatters (TIME Family of Wines in Penticton), vice-chair Josh Stewart (Arterra Wines Canada in Vancouver), Paul Sawler (Dirty Laundry Vineyard in Summerland), Erin Korpisto (Stag’s Hollow Winery in Okanagan Falls), Charlie Baessler (Corcelettes Estate Winery in Keremeos) and Greg Berti (Andrew Peller in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont.).

BC Grapegrowers’ Association representative Felix Egerer and Prodan will continue as ex-officio, non-voting members.

Those leaving the board are Leo Gebert (St. Hubertus & Oak Bay Winery in Kelowna) and Dapinder Gill (Kismet Estate Winery in Oliver).
