Kelowna’s largest private sector employee will be conducting a job fair early next month.
KF Aerospace will welcome job seekers on Thursday, July 7, from 3-7 p.m. in the company’s west hangar at 5650 Aerospace Dr., where free parking will be provided.
The company is expecting to fill more than 100 jobs by next year.
“We are increasing both staffing and hangar space to accommodate our upcoming passenger to freighter conversion program for Boeing and our aircraft leasing division,” chief corporate services officer Grant Stevens said in a press release.
The open-house event will highlight both skilled trades and entry level roles available at KF, including aircraft interior technician, hangar support, customer service and materials co-ordinator.
Okanagan College will also be at the job fair to introduce prospective students to its aircraft maintenance engineer training programs.
“For our entry level roles, we provide on-the-job training that allows you to work towards a nationally recognized certification,” KF human resources manager Susan van Unen said. “If you have a great attitude and are ready to learn and grow with us, we’d love to meet you.”
KF Aerospace is adding 40,000 square feet in expansion facilities this year. It recently opened a café, and a YMCA daycare facility at nearby Kelowna International Airport will have dedicated spaces for KF families.
