The new tenant in the old Rose’s Pub is ready to open its doors.

King Taps Lakeside, which offers 270 degrees of indoor and outdoor Okanagan Lake views, will start serving food and drinks today (Wednesday) in its two-storey location at 1352 Water St. in downtown Kelowna.

“We’re beyond excited to be opening our second King Taps location, and first in B.C., along downtown’s iconic waterfront,” King Taps regional manager Thomas Beetlestone said in a press release. “As Kelowna’s new waterfront hangout, everyone is invited to discover our outstanding service, selection and style.

“We’ve got something for everyone, whether guests are looking for a casual drink, elevated fine-dining or anything in between. We’ve hired and trained a staff of over 150 hospitality professionals, and the team can’t wait to greet locals and tourists alike this summer and beyond.”

The only other King Taps, which is part of the Cactus Club family of restaurants, is located in Toronto’s Financial District.

King Taps Lakeside is touting its pizzas, shareable food and the capacity for nearly 100 tap lines to serve the best regional, domestic and international beer. And there will be win, of course.

“At King Taps Lakeside, our chefs create best-in-class entrees, shareable plates, pizza-lover pizzas, mouth-watering handhelds and more, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan-friendly options,” King Taps regional chef James Bunting said. “Our kitchen team strives to make memorable, delicious food accompanied by complementary drinks, including the best in Okanagan wines. We’ve got something for everyone.”

The first-level indoor area features lounge and dining room seating, while the outdoor section includes covered and open-air patios, complete with heating and misting systems. The second level offers “The Terrace,” which consists of indoor and patio cabana-style booths.
