The Town of Osoyoos has hired a new deputy fire chief of fire prevention.

Robert Huttema has more than 25 years of firefighting experience, most recently acting as the fire prevention officer in Dawson Creek.

Huttema enjoys hockey and golf, and shares four children with his wife.

They are excited to join the Osoyoos community, and the fire department is happy to have them.

“We look forward to deputy chief Huttema joining us and promoting and continuing the excellent service that the fire rescue department provides to our community,” fire chief Corey Kortmeyer said.
