Anyone can enjoy a Nooner
Hotel Zed is now referring to its Valentine’s Day Nooner as an “internationally renowned” special, which is accurate considering all of the worldwide media attention is has garnered over the years.
The Nooner is back once again, and this time it will be celebrating all types of love and all types of relationships. For $59, you and anyone you want can book a Hotel Zed room between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Valentine’s Day.
There are Hotel Zed locations in Kelowna, Victoria and Tofino.
“Relationships don’t always look like the ones we see in typical greeting cards, and that can feel alienating for a lot of folks,” Hotel Zed sales manager Matt Schmitt said in a press release. “It’s so encouraging to see Valentine’s Day becoming more inclusive, because there are gaps in the holiday as we know it.
“When queer people travel, we must make tough choices on where to stay and whether we would feel safe in a particular area. Seeing something like the Progress Pride Flag at a hotel lets myself and my partner know we are safe among friends, and we can be who we are without judgment.”
Hotel Zed will be donating $1 to the Rainbow Railroad group for every social media post that uses the hashtag #LoveFromAToZed between today (Feb. 1) and Feb. 15, and there will be multimedia Progress Pride Flag displays within the lobbies of all Hotel Zed locations to honour all kinds of love.
The company also created inclusive Valentine’s Day cards “to capture the diversity of love for those who have had a hard time finding greeting cards that speak to queer or non-monogamous relationships.”
Customers can extend their Valentine’s Day stay and spend the night for $79 in Kelowna.
