An important topic and matter for many businesses in the Okanagan is liability. When you incorporate your business it can be very useful removing any personal liability. However, that doesn’t always mean there is no liability, especially if you are a director of the business—someone who is in charge of the day-to-day management and operation.

In this episode of the Law Talk podcast, lawyers Clay Williams and Tanvir Gill discuss “director’s liability” under the Business Corporation Act of BC and the obligations imposed on directors. It’s a topic that is litigated constantly and studied at length in law school.

This episode of the podcast is recorded in the middle of the Omicron wave of the COVID-19 pandemic with Williams and Gill appearing remotely. As always, send your business or corporate legal questions in for Williams and Gill to [email protected].
