Frame Custom Homes’ Urban Retreat is up for a Georgie Award.

The Canadian Home Builders’ Association of BC announced its 2021 Georgie Awards nominees this week, and there are 17 projects in the Thompson Okanagan that are up for province-wide honours that celebrate excellence in home building and renovation in the residential construction industry.

Kelowna’s Frame Custom Homes leads the way with four nominations, while Harmony Homes, also based in Kelowna, is next with three.

Frame earned three nominations for Lakeside Haven and one for Urban Retreat, which is a heavily nominated home in next weekend’s Okanagan Home Excellence Awards. Both Urban Retreat and Lakeside Haven are up for the same award: custom home valued over $3 million. Lakeside Haven is also up for best single family kitchen over $150,000 and best outdoor living space (new or renovation).

Harmony Homes, meanwhile, has three nominees in the same category: best multi-family townhouse development (infill, six units and under).

Kerkhoff Construction and Okanagan Dream Builders both picked up two nominations. Kerkhoff’s 1151 Sunset tower in downtown Kelowna is up for best multi-family mid/high-rise development, while ONE Water Street is nominated for best sales centre. Okanagan Dream Builders has a chance in the best innovative feature (new or renovation) and best certified home categories for Raven on the Lake, a six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home on Okanagan Lake.

Kelowna’s Bellamy Homes, Kelowna Absolute Interior Design, Weninger Construction & Design and Begrand Fast Design earned single nominations, as did Salmon Arm’s Hindbo Construction Group and the CHBA Central Interior for its 2020 Training House in Kamloops.

The 29th annual Georgie Awards will be held virtually on March 20.
