Okanagan College’s annual job fair will not only be a virtual affair this year, but it will also have a session that will help you learn how to network in the online world.

The college’s Empowering Employment job will be held on Thursday, Feb. 4, but it will be conducting a pair of seminars in advance of the big day to help students get polished when it comes to their online networking skills.

A workshop called Land That Job will be held on Jan. 26 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and will focus on resume and cover letter writing. Okanagan College will host another session, called Virtual Networking Hacks, on Jan. 28, also from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Both sessions will be free, but registration is required.

Businesses wishing to take part in the job fair on Feb. 4 are encouraged to register soon, as there is limited exhibitor space even though it is a virtual event. More information can be found here.

“This event is going to be such a great opportunity for our OC students, alumni—and the public—to connect with employers from a wide range of sectors across the Okanagan,” Okanagan College student, graduate and co-op employment co-ordinator Erin Pedro said in a press release.

“Our goal is to empower employers and students alike, recognizing that these are challenging times when it comes to networking. We hope it will be a great way for businesses to showcase their opportunities without the usual in-person networking events to which we’re all accustomed.”
