It’s that time of year again.

Kelowna Chamber of Commerce is looking for new board members.

“One of the highlights of our chamber year is the election of new directors to our volunteer board,” chamber past president and board development committee member Nikki Csek said in a press release. “Directors are volunteers from diverse professional backgrounds who are elected to one-year terms to manage the affairs of the board in accordance with the by-laws.

“The board—a governance board—comprises multiple skill sets which ensure the chamber’s long-term health and success, setting a tone for organizational effectiveness, innovation, and vision.”

Anyone wishing to join the chamber board must be associated with a chamber member company in good standing as of Monday. The nomination window closes on Friday, Feb. 12, at 4 p.m.

“The ongoing challenges of strategizing for a business organization given the pandemic’s impact on businesses, are ones which the board embraced in 2020,” Csek said. “Moving forward with new directors will require a re-dedication to these strategic goals for the organization as the chamber continues to represent the needs of business across numerous challenges in 2021.”
