Mamas for Mamas will be hosting its sixth annual gala in less than three weeks.

The event will be a national affair, and it will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14. It will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the lineup of special guests is impressive nonetheless.

CMT legend Casey Clarke will emcee the gala, which will include visits from Jillian Harris, The Birds Papaya author Sarah Landry, health and beauty entrepreneur Jess Tetu and author Dr. Jody Carrington. Live entertainment will be provided by country music star and honourary mama Aaron Pritchett.

Since Mamas for Mamas is based in Kelowna, those in the Okanagan have a shot at a special bonus. A silent auction is being conducted, with the winner getting one of 10 local chefs to come to their home and prepare a meal for their bubble during the gala. Each course will be paired with Sandhill Wines. More on the chef auction can be found here.

“In 2020 we have seen a surge of requests and the needs from individuals and families needing a hand up from all of our Mamas for Mamas branches in the country we knew that not hosting a gala this year is not possible in order for us to ensure that no one goes out without the support that they require,” Mamas for Mamas founder and CEO Shannon Christensen said in a press release.

“When it was determined that it would not be possible for our 2020 gala to be an in-person fundraiser, we saw this as an opportunity to engage with our Mamas for Mamas branches from across the country. This format allows us to host more attendees and give the opportunity for anyone to attend regardless of your budget. All guests will also have access to our incredible live and silent auctions.”

Tickets are $25 to attend on Zoom and can be purchased here.
