Three Okanagan College students have made great contributions to the local water and wastewater industry, and they haven’t even graduated yet.

Ruben Kubbenga, Daniel Soroka and Peter Wilson were recently honoured with Outstanding Student Awards from the Environmental Operators Certification Program. The awards included cash prizes.

All three students are enrolled in the water engineering technology diploma program at the college’s Kelowna campus and have completed co-op terms with B.C. employers.

“Our program has topnotch curriculum which produces topnotch students like Daniel, Ruben and Peter,” program instructor and chair Allison O’Neill said in a press release. “We are very proud of these students and all their hard work and they serve as excellent ambassadors for the water engineering technology program and for the EOCP.”
