Minga won the second annual OKGN Angel Summit in March.

Now that the third annual OKGN Angel Summit is busy collecting investors, it is now time to find those up-and-coming businesses that could use a little capital.

The application period for the 2021 OKGN Angel Summit is now open, and Accelerate Okanagan, which oversees the competition, is offering early-bird pricing of $199 for startups that enter no later than Dec. 4. The price after that is $299.

The OKGN Angel Summit is a 10-week program designed to expose both entrepreneurs and accredited investors to the world of angel investing. This is done through a guided, hands-on process where a small venture capital fund is raised, deals are screened and an investment in a startup is made.

Eligible startups for the competition are those that are seeking an investment of between $100,000 and $1 million, within half a day’s drive of Kelowna and able to attend and participate in the finale on March 18, when an investment of more than $100,000 will be made to the winning business.

The deadline for businesses to enter is Dec. 31, and applications can be found here.
