Weninger Construction’s Snowpeaks Lodge won home of the year at last year’s awards show.

The nomination period is now open for the 28th annual Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence.

The awards celebrate the best builders, renovators, designers and industry partners across the Central Okanagan region of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association.

“2020 has been a challenging year for all of us,” CHBA-CO president Cassidy deVeer said in a press release. “The housing awards are an opportunity for us to celebrate and recognize the great work residential builders and their partners are doing across the region.

“This year our awards are more inclusive, and new awards reflect the changing nature of housing in the Central Okanagan.”

Three new awards this year are designer of the year, supplier of the year, and best small home (under 1,000 square feet).

The eligibility period is for projects completed between Jan. 1, 2019, and Sept. 30, 2020. Submissions can be made until Nov. 16.

“Okanagan Builders are creating some of the most jaw-dropping, stunning homes in Canada,” CHBA-CO executive officer Daniel Winer said. “Luxury custom homes, energy efficient homes or creative infill projects, local builders have a high standard of quality. We’re thrilled to be able to celebrate these builders.”
