Kelowna-based Women’s Enterprise Centre has captured a national award for its work supporting female entrepreneurs.

The organization captured a Business as a Force for Good award from the INSEAD National Alumni Association Canada and the INSEAD Alumni Fund. WEC won in the not-for-profit category.

It was the third annual Business as a Force for Good Awards, but this year’s event was held virtually. INSEAD is one of the world’s top graduate business schools with campuses in France, Singapore and the Middle East, and a research centre in Israel. Founded in 1957, INSEAD was originally known as “Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires.”

“The team at Women’s Enterprise Centre is honoured to receive this award, and it’s even more incredible to be named alongside these other impressive organizations,” Women’s Enterprise Centre CEO Jill Earthy said in a press release. “This is wonderful timing, to be recognized for our impact when we’re also celebrating our 25th year of serving the women entrepreneurs of B.C.!”

Women’s Enterprise Centre provides business loans, advisory services, training, mentoring and a supportive community to thousands of women business owners all over B.C. each year.
