A new provincial program will allow businesses to earn rebates if they use electric vehicles.
The CleanBC Specialty-Use Vehicle Incentive program, also known as SUVI, will offer rebates that range from $1,700 to $50,000 per vehicle. It is available for businesses, local and regional governments, and non-profit organizations that purchase five or fewer vehicles.
“We’re making cleaner options more affordable and increasing the use of electric vehicles in how we get around,” Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources Bruce Ralston said in a press release. “These rebates will support B.C. businesses, including those in the tourism sector, in purchasing an electric bus, service vehicle or utility truck, helping them to reduce air pollution, save on fuels and grow their business.”
The rebate money comes from $2 million in additional funding that is being provided for the program.
