Okanagan College is looking to give its fourth year Applied Search Marketing students real-life experience, while helping out businesses struggling through the pandemic.

The partnership would be at no cost to businesses — unless, of course, they want to pay for the help.

Normally students work for start-ups through Accelerate Okanagan, said Prof. Robert Wright, with the Okanagan College School of Business.

“I was thinking that they might be able to help some local businesses who are struggling with the current business situation this year instead,” he said.

The course will be offered in the fall semester.

Businesses chosen to be part of the project will be provided with a student or student team (consultants) who will create customized digital marketing plans based on client goals. Students will work directly with clients to implement the plans, measure results, and provide performance feedback.

The clients need to work with student consultants to establish digital marketing goals, review and approve the proposal, pay for any desired paid advertising, and view and assess the results.

To apply for consideration, send an email with your business name, contact information and a brief company/opportunity overview — your sales pitch to the students — to Wright at [email protected] by September 1.

Selected companies will be notified by Sept 30.
