Thompson Okanagan wines dominated the recent All Canadian Wine Championships, which were held virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Awards were handed out in 51 categories, and the Thompson Okanagan region accounted for 32 double gold winners. That works out to a sparkling 63% of all double gold winners.

A total of 130 wineries across the country entered 805 wines to be judged this year, including 545 from B.C. Eleven people comprised the judging panel.

Two of those 32 double gold winners were Oliver’s Nk’Mip Cellars and Monte Creek Ranch Winery, which were also named the competition’s best red and white wines, respectively.
