313 students participated in SCREAM at Constable Neil Bruce Middle School earlier this year.

Kelowna’s Courage For Youth Association will be reaching more students thanks to funding from Coast Capital.

The non-profit organization received a $10,000 grant, allowing it to reach an additional 500 students this year with its flagship character building and leadership program, SCREAM.

An attention catching name, SCREAM is “an innovative character building and leadership program for middle school students that helps equip students to be healthy and reach their goals.”

The program focuses on five areas: Strengths; Character and Values; Reviewing and Educationally Manage Media and Technology; Authentic Alliances; and My Life is My Influence.

The grant helps hundreds of local students, including those at Glenrosa and Constable Neil Bruce Middle Schools in West Kelowna, which were able to access scholarship funds provided by Coast Capital Savings to participate in the week-long program.
