When complete, it will be the largest hotel on the Westside.

Construction is well underway on a six-storey, 115-room Marriott Hotel on Carrington Road, overlooking Okanagan Lake and Two Eagles Golf Course.

The TownePlace Suites by Marriott Okanagan is being built on Westbank First Nation land by ABC Group Hotels.

In an email to Castanet News, company controller Daniel Bok said each suite will contain a kitchenette, a work/living area and bedroom area.

He says the aim is to create a property that optimizes the surrounding natural beauty of the area and golf course.

“The suites will provide guests with the option to have comfortable long-term stays in West Kelowna as an alternative to AirBnB,” Bok said.

“The hotel will cater to travellers seeking residential style suites with personal kitchens.”

The hotel will feature an indoor pool, hot tub, waterslide, fitness centre, wine and coffee bar, and an outdoor patio, where guests can enjoy a barbecue and fire pit.

Bok said the company was attracted to the property because of the Okanagan’s natural beauty and its close proximity to “some of British Columbia’s most sought after wineries, ski resorts and golf courses.”

“We wanted to partner with Marriott to provide an option for travellers who are seeking the amenities and quality of a Marriott hotel without the premium prices of the hotels located in downtown Kelowna.”
