Summer camps have taken a hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Silver Lake Camp has found a way this year to keep kids busy, educated and entertained.

Silver Lake Camp has shifted gears and is now operating day camps that last 11 hours from drop-off to pickup, allowing parents to go to work and get errands done while their young ones explore the outdoors. Drop-off and pickup locations are in Kelowna, Westbank and Peachland.

COVID-19 restrictions mean only 24 kid can ride on the bus each day instead of the usual 52. Bluestar Coach Lines has discounted their rates heavily in order for the camp, which has been in operation since 1970, to continue.

Silver Lake Forest Center is located 20 kilometres northwest of Peachland.

More information about Silver Lake Camp can be found on the organization’s website.
