If you’re leery about heading back into stores during the COVID-19 pandemic, a digital marketing agency has found the best days and times to avoid large crowds of people.
It’s common sense that the best times of the day to avoid people are before 9 a.m. and after 8 p.m., which might be difficult considering there are dedicated hours for seniors before 9 a.m. and many businesses are not staying open past 8 p.m.
If you can access stores at those hours, however, the best days to go are Sunday and Tuesday if you’re looking to mingle with the fewest members of the public.
The research was conducted by an American company called Zenreach, which compiled foot traffic data between April 1 and May 5 to get a sense of when people were heading out during the lockdown.
The busiest shopping days were Friday and Saturday, and the times when most people hit stores is between noon and 2 p.m. There is another spike between 4 and 6 p.m. when the work day ends for most people.
