A Kelowna business owner spent Easter weekend giving her tasty treats to those who could use a little pick-me-up during the pandemic.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory owner Tanya Loewen sent some of her delicious products to Canada Blood Services, Kelowna Women’s Shelter, Central Okanagan Food Bank and Kelowna General Hospital.

The entire Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory corporation donated $500,000 worth of chocolate and confections to Canadian charities and community organizations over the weekend, and the Kelowna franchise was thrilled to take part.

“As franchise owners, we have had the opportunity to rehire staff and run production to ensure we have enough treats for our community,” Loewen said in a press release. “I am so excited and proud to be part of it.”

The company plans to continue giving away its goodies to those on the front lines of the COVID-19 battle.
